Sringeri, a small town in remote Malnad region, has the reputation of being the seat of knowledge, Sri Sharada Peetha, established by Sri Shankara Bhagavathpadacharya. The college founded jointly by the Academy of General Education, Manipal and Bharathi Vidya Samsthe, Sringeri is aptly named after Sri Jagadguru Chandrashekhara Bharathi Mahaswamiji, the 34th Pontiff in the unbroken line of succession of Sri Sharada Peetha, who was himself an erudite scholar and a realised soul. With the starting of this college 51 years ago, the longfelt need of this remote area for higher education is fulfilled. The college has an impressive track record of excellent performance. In recognition of its quality the Degree college has been awarded A grade by NAAC. The college is housed in its own extensive buildings situated amidst ideal natural settings on the banks of the sacred river Tunga. It has an experienced and qualified staff, well equipped laboratories and a good library. It also provides facilities for a variety of extra- curricular activities and sports. Hostel facilities for men and women are provided.It is the ardent aspiration of the management of this college to provide all facilities to the students for their all-round development.
